Last week of term 1!

LOTS GOING ON!
How can you not have fun with shaving foam! The children loved the texture and some just sat enjoying the texture and smell as they smoothed it over their hands.
Some delightful mark making too.

Mark making continued through the week. Roads and paths were drawn,
as well as spirals and a dinosaur.
Great conversation between children as they talked about what they were drawing.

We have been practising tracing lines this week.
Hand eye coordination, pencil control and concentration were all needed!

The children worked together with support to draw and tell the story of the three little pigs. It was very pleasing to hear them saying the repeated refrains of the pigs and the wolf so confidently and with great expression!

This was the first time some of our children had visited the older folk at their coffee morning in the hall. They enthusiastically sang and performed actions to some of their favourite songs, including Old MacDonald. Very proud of you, children!
We also managed to find time to go on a bear hunt using a great action song this week! The children especially loved racing back "home" and hiding under the covers from the bear!
Lots of stretching, climbing, balancing and wobbling across these tyres!

And that's the end of our first term -  these children have settled in so well with routines and already their journals are full of great learning.
They are building lovely friendships with each other too as they grow in confidence.
I'm sure Term 2 will be even more exciting!
