New term off to a flying start!

OPPORTUNITIES TO PRACTICE THOSE FINE MOTOR SKILLS
Picking up tiny buttons, sequins and shiny jewels using a pincer grip kept these children busy for some time. Their concentration was great, and it was also pleasing to hear children beginning to talk about the letter sounds.

A range of paper, cellophane, and thin card captured children's interest and over the week they practised holding and cutting with scissors.

Line pattern cards and the children's name cards were left out with tracing paper - this sparked a great deal of interest on different days, and it was good to see children concentrating and keeping on the lines even more than they did in previous weeks.

AUTUMN FUN
The children made the most of the huge quantities of leaves that had fallen.

Our wonderful school grounds mean the children have lots of space to enjoy being outdoors no matter what the weather!

Who knew sweeping leaves could be so much fun!

BACK INDOORS FOR SOME MUSIC!
Circle time involved watching and listening to simple rhythms and copying them. The children also explored making sounds on wood, metal and cardboard - metal, of course, was the favourite because of the deafening sound!!
