Wonderful Spring!

TIME TO GET PLANTING!
The sight of these seeds potatoes certainly got the children talking! Some of them thought the potatoes were rotten, others didn't like the "bumpy" bits, and there was general consensus that there was something wrong with them!
The children were rather doubtful that we could plant them to grow new potatoes, but they were all eager to help in the planting process.

More planting followed with nasturtium and antirrhinum seeds. The children were very surprised at the difference in the sizes of the seeds.

When a child found this in the sand pit outdoors, there was a great deal of discussion as to what it could be and how it had got into the sand - eventually we tracked it back to Autumn when the children had had conkers in the sand, and we realized one had sprouted. We planted it to see what would happen.

IT'S ALMOST EASTER!
We made some fabulous Easter cards this week!

There's always time for some cooking, and making Easter chocolate nests provided lots of opportunities to observe and discuss changes to ingredients, as well as talking about what they liked about Easter!

EXCITING MARK MAKING
We couldn't stop the children mark making and writing this week! They were queuing up at the easel and gathered round to watch each other and ask each other questions - great work!
