First week of 2016!

BACK FOR A NEW TERM!

The children were pleased to see each other after the Christmas holidays and had lots to share about presents, treats and family time. Santa seems to have been especially busy delivering new bikes!

There have been some very industrious children in just three days, involved in activities including creating stories with puppets, making books, building jigsaws, threading and counting, and singing along to their favourite songs.

We have also had some new children join Little Conkers and they have already settled into the class after only a few days.

CELEBRATING EPIPHANY
When we talked about the Christmas story the children could recall the people, places, events and animals! I only needed to mention a character eg. innkeeper, and a child burst into song with everyone else then joining in with the song about the inn keeper from the Nativity Play they performed in December!
We learned about Epiphany this week and looked at how the visit of the Wise men is celebrated in different countries including Three Kings Day parades.
Some of the children brought in crowns they had made at home, and some created their crowns in school. All of them were very royal and there was a great deal of silver and gold glistening around the room
